Changpyeong Yeot(rice taffy) boasts its exceptional taste and crunch when chewed, without being latched inside the mouth. From the ancient times, Changpyeong in Jeollado has been famous for Yeot(rice taffy). The history of Changpyeong Yeot can be traced back to the 1400’s Chosen Dynasty. It was originated from the Yeot that was handed over by the court ladies serving the Yangnyeong-daegun, the eldest brother of King Sejong, who stayed in Changpyeong Damyang-gun Jeollanam-do after his retirement. Since then, the secret for manufacturing has been handed down for generations through the women in Changpyeong village.
